Last Season Recap

Fall 2017

Cross Country: Both the boys and girls teams qualified for the state finals. This was the first time the boys advanced to the state finals as a team since 2014 and the first time the girls had done so since 2009. Both teams placed 27th in the state. Individually, Ethan Rice earned All-State honors finishing 24th at the state finals. During the season, Ethan set the LHNW Cross Country school record with a time of 16:42 for 3.1 miles.

Football: The Crusaders finished the regular season with an undefeated 9-0 record earning their first conference championship since 2008. This also meant that the football team would be participating in the playoffs for the 8th time in the last 10 years. In addition to these accolades, the undefeated season earned LHNW the opportunity to host a playoff game for the first time since 2012.

Girls Golf: For the first time in school history, LHNW girls golfers qualified to play in the state finals as a team. All five girls played 18 holes on both days of the finals and earned a 15th place finish. Individually, Grace VanDellen finished in 12th place overall. Senior Jenna Reinert earned individual Academic All-State honors.

Soccer: The LHNW soccer team earned their highest finish in the MIAC conference standings in over a decade before their season ended in the district semi-finals. As a result of their hard work in the classroom the team earned Academic All-State honors. Individually, Jeremey Morrison was an Honorable Mention All-State selection.

Volleyball: The volleyball team's season ended in the district semi-finals this year. The team earned Academic All-State honors for the third straight season. Seniors Shannon Fitzgibbon, Becca Oleskie, and Mady Stevens each received individual Academic All-State honors. Becca also set the career record for serve receptions with 1517.
